Shoes appeared much later and were less common than other elements of the costume. Clothing, like any other piece of art, combines beauty and expediency. Protecting the human body from cold and heat, precipitation and wind, clothing performs a utilitarian function; decorating it - an aesthetic function. But if clothes protect us from adverse environmental factors, why don't we go naked at home or where nothing threatens our body? After all, why don't we take pictures without clothes?
