Found this on a 24 convenience store. Work order said lock just spins. I arrived and manager on duty show me this. AdamsRite thumbturn is offset, yup, easy fix 😆 Not so simple tho... The set screw was torqued tight, finally got it backed out and the thumbturn was also torqued in tight. Had to use channel locks to back it off and align it. It still only spun. I thought that's great 🙄 there something deeper wrong, maybe a new hookbolt is needed. I pulled the thumbturn cylinder and found the tail piece (what was left of it) broken. I didn't see any parts of it in the Adams Rite mechanism. Sprayed it down with Houdini spray and screws in a new thumbturn. Everything works great now.
